2 pounds guava – rinsed, ends trimmed, cut into chunks
8 cups water – divided
0.5 cup granulated sugar
0.125 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons lime juice – freshly squeezed
ice cubes – for serving
Instructions
Rinse the guavas, trim the stem ends, and cut into chunks.
Add the guava chunks to a blender with 4 cups of the water. Blend until completely smooth, 45–60 seconds.
Strain the purée through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible; discard the seeds and excess pulp.
Add the granulated sugar and salt to the pitcher and stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, 1–2 minutes.
Stir in the remaining 4 cups water and the lime juice. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
