Chop Rating: —/5
Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic – finely minced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 0.5 cup honey
- 0.25 cup water
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water – for slurry
Instructions
- Finely mince the garlic.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium heat until shimmering, about 1 minute.
- Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant but not browned, 30–60 seconds.
- Whisk in the soy sauce, honey, 0.25 cup water, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced, 3–4 minutes.
- In a small bowl, stir the cornstarch with 1 tbsp water until smooth.
- Whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce and cook, stirring, until glossy and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Let stand 2–3 minutes, then toss with hot cooked wings to coat, or cool and refrigerate up to 1 week.
